Client Details

My client is a smaller construction company who is in search of an accountant to join the team. This role is located in Carlisle, PA. The culture is excellent here and is extremely collaborative, supportive, and there is room for growth to build a lasting career here. This full-time position will have the opportunity to manage all financial activities of the accounting department and report directly to the company President. The ideal candidate will possess the below qualifications and prior job experiences and must be an efficient, detail-oriented and a self-motivator. Training will be provided.

Description

  • Manage all facets of the accounting department including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Perform weekly payroll including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll taxes
  • Develop monthly client payment applications and invoices in conjunction with Project Manager insight/review
  • Review and process sub-contractor payment applications and vendor invoicing verifying contract compliance, change order documentation and lien releases
  • Track and review monthly project costs in comparison to estimates and budgets/forecasts to determine project overages
  • Prepare and issue year end W-2 and 1099 documents
  • Monitor deposits, record payments and post incoming wire transfers
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts on a daily and monthly basis
  • Assist with weekly/monthly cash flow reports
  • Perform month end close on A/P, A/R and financial statements
  • Receive and resolve all client, sub-contractor and vendor inquiries in a timely manner
  • Manage general liability and workman's compensation and builders risk insurance program
  • Oversee health care medical insurance benefit
  • Track leave accruals such as vacation in conjunction with payroll

Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Prior accounting experience in the construction is a plus
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Effective writing and communication skills
  • Prior experience in QuickBooks Enterprise Platinum and StarBuilder software (Preferred)
  • Prior experience handling various HR matters is a plus
  • Knowledge of Quantum Software Systems (AIA invoicing) and Procore software
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word and Excel
